At the end of XIX century, in the small town of the Caribbean, to see Florentino Ariza for Fermina Daza, the way to school, falls in love with her and with the complicity of the girl's aunt, launches a platonic romance through letters, without which she ever had seen . Fermina's father to find such, requires the daughter to go to the house of her cousin Hildebrand, in order to get her away from Florentino.

Years later, back to her family home, but seeing Florentino first rejects it and starts a romance with Juvenal Urbino, a doctor, with whom he eventually married. Florentino does not give up, and throughout his life, persists in love. They spend 53 years, 7 months and 11 days until Juvenal Urbino dies, giving you the chance to finally win his beloved.





Gabriel Garcia Marquez was born in 1927 in Colombia. As a journalist, traveled and lived in several European countries. In 1960, he moved to Mexico and wrote his first book of fiction: Nobody Writes to the Colonel. Seven years later, his work One Hundred Years of Solid ã the would make it known and acclaimed as a great writer. In 1982 received the Prix Nobel Prize in Literature. His extensive bibliography includes novels, short stories, chronicles and children's literature.
